Okay, so my car is a 2015 Meg 265 and I think it’s time to change the upper gearbox mount bolt.
When looking around, Kirfel (located in Germany) does not only change the bolt from M10 to M12, they offer a different mount which (considering the price) should last forever.
Do you think this mount will cause notable more vibrations? Any other comments about this mount? Has the 265/275 OEM mount itself failed for anyone?

Changing the upper gearbox mount bolt and maybe the mount itself I started looking at the other mounts. Do you have any opinions about what’s the best solution when the car is a DD?

Airtec Lower Gearbox Mount looks strong but what do you think when it comes to vibration?
Reading D7DJP project, he made a comment which made me think twice about Upper Torque Mount which for now will stay OEM I think.
Is there any point to change Upper Torque Mount to a new OEM part because it’s been on the car for 9 years?

On top of that Powerflex makes an Upper Engine Mount Insert, is this something you would recommend to do at the same time? I guess it’s the yellow one for me in that case.

I have read the old treads about this topic but I haven’t find anything about Airtec and Kirfel mounts.

  2. mine is a 2015 Meg 265 too with 70k miles and track work, upper and lower engine torque mounts were replaced with OEM a couple years ago and added powerflex yellow engine mount and they've been fine since. Upper gearbox mount/bolt hasn't failed on mine so far in 10 years.

Have you noticed if the yellow upper engine mount insert cause more vibration?
May I ask why you kept the Lower gearbox mount OEM when you replaced it?

  4. no vibration with yellow one, but you'd probably feel vibration with the black series.
And as for the lower mount I just didn't want any vibration so I went straight to OEM and it's been fine.

Nice to hear that about the yellow seris.

I guess you chose the safe route. When replacing parts I sometimes want to try aftermarket parts to get an even better experience. But you have to chose wisely. Thanks for you input!

  6. I highly recommend the vibra technic lower engine mount hardly any increase in vibration and a lot better gear changes , the upper gearbox mount can be replaced with the 265 one and ktech sell a stronger bolt too for it

    Sounds good to me!
I've now recieved the Vibra Technic Lower mount and the yellow Upper insert from Powerflex. The work will be done at Kirfel when visiting Nurburgring in June. Kirfel has a custom made gearbox mount which use an M12. It's probably is a bit over the top considering I mostly use my Meg as a fun commuter to work, but what the hell :sunglasses:
