thinking of getting the middle silencer delete done on my 265 RS, seems to be a popular mod and relatively cheap. Any one done this mod on their megane 3 RS? Does it drone after removing the middle silencer? Looking for more pops and crackles in sport mode. Any vids with this mod done?
Had mine done 2 days ago, MK 3 265, stainless steel flared ends section fitted so no welding and will be possible to refit the original mid box, a deeper sound with pops and cracks in both modes, especially in sport mode, but drive steady and it sounds docile so no problems there, my Renault specialist garage pal has done a few so it was spot on and done in 45 mins'.
It's a good mod for £50, i didn't really notice a massive difference. Defo more pops in sport but not always.
Car booked in tomorrow morning for the mid box delete, looking forward to some more pops and crackles. Also going on the dyno to see if it's been remapped and fuelling and boost levels are safe. Pulls very well though. Came with ITG intake and has been lowered on H&R springs so think it's possible it's been mapped too. Mint car though, been well looked after. Saying that it's only done 6700 miles and like new.
I had my back seats down for the 1st time since I had mine done, and found it quite surprising how much the seats block out, even with out sports mode on
Had my mid box chop mod done and very pleased with the sound. Pops and bangs are very addictive and make me smile like a big kid. Also had car on the dyno and just as i thought it's also had a stage 1 map. 297bhp, 343ftlbs of torque. Fuelling, timing, boost etc all spot on too. Nice bonus having some nice mods already on the car, ITG intake, remap and H&R lowering springs. Saved me money doing it. Very pleased with the car so far.
